At a time when the appropriate human response is shock, sympathy and sadness, it boggles my mind why some feel the need to springboard into a personal talking point—on both sides of the table.
Put down your agendas for a second, everyone. Stop. Listen. Pray. Offer sympathy. Be an actual human being. There will be plenty of opportunity to talk policies afterwards. A still-unfolding tragedy is not the time or place.

If you haven't seen THIS yet
...you really, really ought to. Disclaimer: contains mild language, and a whole lot of truth.
It's not often that I recommend that anyone listen to a Jon Lajoie song, but this one in particular is actually pretty spot-on, as far as media commentary goes. Kind of makes the Kelly Oxford post from yesterday seem hypocritical.

I like your style, Ms. Oxford. Keep up the good work.

Popular opinion
Disregarding all of the media commentary for a second, this is what at least one group of web survey participants thinks about Justin Trudeau's recent admission of having smoked pot as an MP three years ago.
Keep in mind, this probably has more to say about readership demographics than anything, as I doubt you'll get the same numbers on a site like Sun News Network. Not taking a cheap shot, just saying—likely a different opinion among that particular set of readers than those here.

Billy Corgan on God in rock music
Whatever you think of Billy Corgan, you can't deny one thing—the guy is interesting.
Here's some footage from an interview he did with CNN. Kind of a fresh take on an industry that feels very un-fresh at times. Pretty funny dig at Christian rock at the end.
(Apologies for the mandatory commercial viewing at the beginning)
